Soil that has a 50 ppm or greater or VOC concentration is considered contaminated. VOC which stands for Volatile Organic Compounds, can make growing anything dangerous or impossible. Getting rid of these compounds is possible. It can also help to restore the soil to its fertile state.
Generally, decontamination soil involves using an organic solvent to cleanse the soil. The solvent dissolves the explosives or other harmful materials.
