I just received a letter from a former client of mind his name is Wilbur Hamstra. He lives in Wheatfield, IN.

I started designing his residence's landscape design in 1975. The first design included a lake west of the house along with land contours to totally change the flat yard into a beautiful setting for the lake and the plantings to come later. The contours were continues around the existing.

I continued for nine years to design and install additional areas of his property until the landscape project included 6 1/2 acres and a large interior planting inside the home

For 38 years this property has been fully maintained and added to and now it is called Hamstra Estate & Garden.

Several of the pictures above where taken during different stages of it's landscape development.

It was featured in a article in the Chicagoland Gardening Magazine October issue. The article was written by Deb Terrill. The article was entitled "Eden In A Cornfield". The Hamstra Estate & Garden allows many weddings each year and local photography companies are using the beautiful grounds for their photo shoots. This property is the highlight of my Landscape Design Career.
